Andy Warhol & My Grandma
This is an old project—one very near the start of my time in art galleries—but I love it, still. Bigfork Collaborations was an artist-run, experimental offshoot of New York's Fred Torres Collaborations. It's debut exhibition featured local outsider artist Kelly Paulson. A realtor in Montana, who would capture stills and scenes of rural life with an immediate, candid nature. Drawing untrod through-lines of masculine sexuality between Paulson's cowboy culture and Andy Warhol's drag scene. Both taken around the same time, a world apart.
