Povera
One of the first major exhibition catalogs I've taken on—From Arte Povera featured the work of Giuseppe Penone (and his contemporaries, influences). The namesake movement his work began was characterized by using rough, natural, or pre-industrial materials and construction. Seen then as a loud rebuttal to the smooth, engineered lines of 1960's design and commodities. Drawing us back into the natural world.
